On May 22, national and international members of the diplomatic corps convened in Reykjavik to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Corps Consulaire d'Islande. Estonia was represented by Ms. Liisi Karindi, the Dean of the Honorary Consular Corps in Estonia.
The celebration included two official events: a reception hosted by the President of Iceland, H.E. Mr. Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, at his residence Bessastaðir, followed by a dinner reception by the Corps Consulaire d’Islande at Hotel Borg in Reykjavík Centrum.
The guest of honour, H.E. Mrs. Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland, expressed her gratitude to the honorary consuls for their significant contributions to fostering international relations and building economic, cultural, and social ties.
On May 23, Mr. Ögmundur Skarphéðinsson, chairman of Corps Consulaire d’Islande, organized a sightseeing tour for the remaining guests, which was followed by an informal dinner at the Edition hotel's signature restaurant, Tides.
This event provided participants with an opportunity to strengthen their relationships and discuss matters related to consular organizations and future activities in the region.
