Studied economics at the University of Tartu from 1923 to 1928 (graduated), at the University of Paris in 1927 and at the Berlin University of Commerce in 1928, Fraternitas Estica alumni.

Participated in the Estonian War of Independence on the broad-gauge armoured train No. 4.

From 1931 he was director of the Estonian Electric Association AEG, and from 1936 to 1937[2] chairman of the board of AS Eesti Dvigatel. Since 1936 Latvian Honorary Consul in Tallinn.

Victim of Soviet occupation.

He was arrested by the NKVD 10.02.1941  on espionage charges. He was sentenced to death, and was shot in Ussollag prison camp 08.06.42.
